A joint family adventure in the City Park: the 5th Liget Adventure Run was a sold-out success

The 5th Liget Adventure Run was held in beautiful, sunny weather with 3,000 participants. Parents, grandparents and children took over the City Park, which was transformed into one giant, fun playground on this day. The event, organized by the Budapest Sports Office (BSI), proved to be a perfect family program, where people of all ages enjoyed exercise and playful challenges together.

What made the event special was that the participants not only passed by the iconic buildings of the City Park, but were also able to literally take possession of quite a few of them on this day: the course passed through the panoramic roof garden of the Ethnographic Museum, touched the House of Hungarian Music, and also introduced the runners to the rarely visited inner cloister of the Vajdunyad Castle and the halls of the Agricultural Museum.

The runners tackled unique and enjoyable obstacles for all ages. The series of shared experiences was enriched by the foam and smoke tunnel, crossing the rubber hills, the climbing wall, and passing through the Ikarus bus and ambulance, which brought a smile to everyone's face.

– It was a great joy to see families, grandparents, parents and children completing the distance and overcoming the obstacles together. Our main goal was to allow the participants to experience the joy of movement in a special, cultural environment, and seeing the many smiling faces, I feel that we succeeded. On this day, the City Park truly became a common playground connecting generations. – evaluated the event Arpad Kocsis, the Budapest Sports Officeits managing director.

The event was very popular, with the 3,000 available places being sold out a week before the start. The runners and visiting family members created a fantastic atmosphere, proving that there is a huge demand for community events where sport, culture and shared adventure come together in such a unique way.
